I know that no one knows when or if background processes will be possible, but if anyone has any comments or links to other rumors which may have info. that would be very useful.

Also now that Apple has enabled Push Notifications, I was wondering if the reverse could be done instead of background processes. Like have the iPhone someone is using Push Information back to the server or computer of the app maker/coder. Just a question.

Thanks, Liam.

i know that if you jailbreak (i highly recommend it) that you can run multiple processes in the background. i cannot wait for the jailbreak on the 3G S since it has much improved power and ram, i hope that even with multiple apps running the phone will not crash. This did sometimes happen on my 3G

Ya WOW

Wow you are completely right that makes no sense...

I meant to ask if data from the iPhone could be pushed back to a server or computer.

Thanks.

As for jail-breaking that is only an option if you can jailbreak 3.0.

Not sure. Also, you can jailbreak 3.0 now. Check the Dev Team Blog.
