Iphone backup after hard disk replacement

Hi All,
I have Iphone 5. I backed up all my music, contacts, apps etc to my laptop. Unfortunately the hard disk crashed. I replaced the hard disk and reinstalled windows 7. Now I cannot backup what I have on my mobile to my laptop. Any idea?
Would the backup include what I have on "Notes" and all my phone contacts?
