Hey everyone,

I fanally decided to get 3.0 from 2.2.1 so I saved my sms, contacts, phone boook etc using SSH.

The problem is that everything works once copy/pasted with SSH back on the iphone, except the sms messages.

So, my question is, now that I have all my sms in a file (sms.db) which are from 2.2.1, is there any way of opening the txt messages on the computer or making them work with 3.0??.

I have some important sms there and i need to get data out of them..

Please help !

I don't think you are going to get a lot of help here, since you can't even ssh on the phone unless it's jailbroken. You should be asking on the appropriate forums.

I would imagine that the archive with the SMS can be read quite easily by the right application, so that you don't have to restore the data at all to get at what you need.

When playing with compressed/compiled/archived files I will often just run the "strings" command from an OS like OS X, Linux, UNIX, etc. That will often puke out a lot of info from the file.
