I have multiple iphones on a family plan. the one phone has not been used and has been draining while on standby. i charged it up and did not use it and it dropped 30% over night. i had reset the settings to make sure nothing was running. Prior to resetting the settings i would charge the phone and it would go from 100 to 0 in less than a day on standby. So I have seen an improvement.

current situation:

phone 1
usage 20 mins
standby 20 hours
100% to 70%

phone 2
usage 6 hours 37 mins
stand by 3 days
100% to 67%

do you think its bad? i read another thread about losing charge during stand by.

I can't see why it would/should be losing any charge on standby. Usually when folks complain of the battery draining while "not in use" it's a rogue app running in the background and the usage time will equal the standby time. Since your usage time is so low, that likely isn't it. The only other reasons I would think it's draining in standby are if the cell signal is bad and it's constantly working to find a signal or the battery is bad.

i thought the same thing but i don't think its the signal because the other iphones dont seem to be losing signal strength at the same increased rate.

My iPhone 5 (as I posted in another thread) is also draining in standby, its at least 1% per hour (seems between 1-2%) even with Airplane mode on (Wifi on or off) and the only app running being settings. I'm also seeing this on the 4S the 5 is replacing. (I have tried resetting settings on the iPhone 5 but it made no difference)

On the other hand my wife's 4 (soon to be 4S) has been on Airplane mode (with Wifi on) for the last 3.5 hours an is still on 100%.

In the process of setting my 5 up as new and fully charging it again so I can see if that makes a difference.
