I'm not planning to do this, but surely you could just install a higher capacity battery, as long as you get a good quality one?

How risky is this? Just curious.
 
The battery would need to be the same dimensions and size as the original one, so not really sure how it would really be of much more capacity.
 
With current technology, the current OEM batteries are already the highest capacity batteries that can fit in the allotted internal battery space. Anything that states or is sold as being bigger, is a marketing ploy.

This. To add more capacity you'd need more physical space.

Those batteries on ebay are normal iPhone batteries with a sticker on them saying they are a higher mAh. Its a scam.
