Has anyone tried using an iPod battery backup with iPhone. I have a Belkin one that connects via 30pin dock connector and it would be great for a long trip I'm taking this weekend. I mean it's just power, and the iPod car charger I have now works with my iPhone. I'm just somehow afraid it will mess up iPhone or its battery.

I was wondering same thing.

I read somewhere that the old Firewire AC adapter made the iPhone really hot while changing. I stopped using my firewire AC adapter after reading that.

I wonder same thing will happen with External battery solutions that were originally intended for iPods??

I brought my Belkin Battery Backup (uses 4 AA batteries) and have used it just fine. I brought extra batteries but i have had to use it. I've been traveling to Asia and it's been all good.

I have the 8 gig and have been watching movies and listening to itunes. Haven't even broke out my video iPod yet.
