So tommorow Best Buy will start selling iPhones. What do all of you think about this good, bad, who cares?

I myself would not really like to have some 16 year old kid or something holding my brand new iPhone.

Geez its a phone, not your manhood. Does it matter who sells is as long as you get what you want from the phone. Somebody has to hold it right?

So you would prefer them be early 20s? Because if you buy at apple or at&t then you are gonna have a 20 something holding your new iphone. whats the difference?

at&t and apple aren't selling contract free phones yet are they? I know they said they would eventually, but my buddy found today that best buy is advertising them as "regular" price as well as the normal contract prices.

He posted the images on our blog

$599 and $699... ouch!
I better not drop my phone and have to buy a new one out of contract. Maybe I'll have to rethink my whole I don't want a case because it looks so pretty mantra

It is really funny for both Best Buys that are in my area. They are in the mall area, and if you just walk a few more feet, you are at an actual Apple store. Why wouldn't you just go to the Apple store and buy it?

Because there are a lot of areas in the US without an Apple store. Also, other people may have some Best Buy giftcards as well thay have been waiting to use......

Not everyone may be as lucky as you having an Apple store next to a Best Buy.

I thought it was $399 and $499?????

so if I break my 16g, I'll be paying 700 bucks? wtfisthisshit?

399-499 is for the locked-on contract iPhone. If you lose it/break it and it doesn't cover and you want a new one, it i'll cost 399-499.

If you buy one from best buy without a contact at 600-700 and lose it/break ti and it doesn't cover and you want a new one, it i'll cost 600-700.

Ok, so you still get a discount if you are under contract? I've never heard of that on any other phone, but I guess it makes sense.

kinda..
The locked iPhone cost 300-400 but when you sign the 2 year contract they give you that discount. The 300-400 price is only available after buying a first iphone.

The 600-700 is unlocked without a contract. It's just like any other regular product. If you break it you buy another at full price.

Oh, I was under the assumption that it is still locked to at&t you just don't have to sign a contract. Plus, at least in the US I think tmobile is the only other carrier that works with the same 3g technology that is built into the iPhone anyway.

I don't like fact that the people at bestbuy can be very misleading if you dont know what you are talking about. Other than that they are just another place to buy.

The phone is not unlocked, it will still only work on AT&T. The $599/$699 pricing is the no-commitment price simply meaning no contract. It does not mean unlocked.

2) second time buy (with an existing att contract) 399-499
3) no contract/commitment price 599-699
