Hey so I just got an iPhone and I love it, but I want to know if I can run my music through my Bluetooth headset? Thanks.

Bluetooth Headset, I don't think so
Bluetooth Headphones, yes

Can you give an example of what headset (model) you would like to do this with?

Ok that is what I thought. Um I'd be using an old plantronics model #E220. Thanks again!

Depends on the headset and iPhone model (the A2DP profile is only present in the 3G and later). I have a Jawbone Icon and it can play audio from the iPod and other apps on my iPhone 4.

Ok thanks! Yeah I probably should upgrade my bluetooth, its an old free one I got almost five years ago. I just couldn't find anything that said it couldn't play music, but nothing that said it could either. Thanks for the help!

I'm in the same boat. My Plantronics Voyager Pro (2009 model) isn't capable of A2DP Bluetooth streaming, but the current production Voyager Pro+ is capable, and really makes me want to upgrade. :)

Yeah I just spent the last three hours trying to find a decent set that streamed audio for a reasonable price and didn't get a set answer. Either it was like $100+ dollars or wasn't clear weather it was capable of A2DP. BTW does anybody have any suggestions for a adequate headset with A2DP streaming?! That is not too expensive?!

Yeah, I found mine at best buy for like $50-$60. I can't remember the model but i'll check after work

I have this one and they sound good and it even has a mic so that I can use them with my iMac and MacBook Pro (for FaceTime or Google Voice) and as well with my iPhone/iPod touch. They're only $59.

I'm sure you want a Headset, but I just wanted to recommend this one (just in case).

Yeah the headphones look great but I really need a headset and don't have the expenses to buy both.

Yeah a jawbone would definitely be what I would want, but they are a little out of my price range. I did find one on amazon though for $40, but I'm still checkIng to see if it is legit ya know. $40 is pretty much my price cap though. I'm not expecting to get too much

Those rocket fish headphones have a mic, so you can use them as a headset.

Yeah, but I also want it to be low profile (mono), otherwise I would have something by now. Haha

I have two sony headphone adaptors. they let you use a any headphones and let you make and receive calls. So far both work fine for audio but after a few days phone calls started being an issue.
