iPhone Brightness: Full or Half-Full

Does having the screen at full brightness affect the performance of the phone? Just curious what everyone else has their phone set to...

It'll kill your battery pretty fast. I think most people probably have it set to half with the auto-brightness turned on.

Ditto. I have Auto-off as it worked poorly for me and I think it saves battery since it would turn the ambient light sensor off.

Mine is always at about 40-50% with auto brightness on. 100% is way too bright for me and the battery would suffer.

My brightness is about 40% with auto brightness turned off.

I've had multiple Apple employees tell me that using auto brightness takes more power. After turning it off, I found this to be true in my experience. I gained about an hour of usage on a charge cycle.

This and making sure the "ask to join wifi" is turned off as well.

Wow ! how can you handle that at night/indoor ? I cant even stand it at half.

I usually have my 4S at 25-30% with auto off. Conserves battery and I can still see the screen well.
