iPHone cable not chargin anynmore

I have had this 30pin to usb cable that i keep in my car to charge my iphone but all of a sudden it stopped working with the iphone. THe cable is just some cheap retractable cable i bought a while ago. THe cable used to work fine but it stopped working. It gives me the message "Charging is not supported with this accessory". Any ideas why it isnt working? I didn't update or anything.
