I use the iPhone Passwords and Accounts settings and add my google account. I notice that the sync for calendar and contacts only goes from google over to the iPhone calendar and contacts. It is not a 2 way sync, meaning my iPhone calendar and contacts do not end up over in google calendar and contacts.

I need the option of 2 way sync, so how can this be accomplished? I know that there are some Apple AppStore programs that would auto sync those, but can it not be done without any 3rd party apps?

I think I figured this out. Add your Google account to your iPhone in Settings, Passwords and Accounts. In settings, click on Calendar, and set the Default to Google. Do the same for Contacts.

After that, you must do a one time export of all contacts and calendar entries from your iPhone to Google. To do this log into iCloud on your PC web browser and export all contacts to a file. Do the same for calendar entries. Then import both of those files into Google calendar and contacts on using your PC/Web browser.

The reason for the above: Nothing that currently exists on iPhone will pass to Google if you only add your Google account to Settings, Passwords and Accounts. The one-time iCloud export and import into Google covers these existing items. And, since you set iPhone calendar and contacts to use Google as their defaults, when you create a new entry in either, that entry gets created in Google. Also, anything edited in Google (on your web browser or another other device) will also sync to your iPhone.
