I compared my iPhone call history (exported via iMazing) with official carrier records and discovered that 87% of my calls show exactly double the actual duration.

Examples:

Carrier saysiPhone shows
1:272:33
6:0812:10
25:4851:35
33:121:06:25

All exactly 2.00x. The remaining 13% show correct duration — I can't identify a pattern for why some are doubled and others aren't.

I use Handoff/Continuity with Mac for some calls (maybe 50-75%). This started after updating to iOS 26 / macOS 26 as far as I can tell.

I also found this discrepancy comparing Mac Phone app vs iPhone call logs for the same call:

Mac Phone AppiPhone
18.11 13:50Outgoing, Answered on other deviceIncoming, 24 min

Same call logged as Outgoing on Mac but Incoming on iPhone. Something is broken in Handoff sync.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there anything to try before contacting Apple (who will probably just say factory reset)?

I was actually thinking that since the times aren't exactly double.
Yes, exactly my thinking too. This must be related to spotty iCloud sync problems, since at some point my iPhone settings showed two entries for my MacBook in Phone Settings → Allow Calls on Other Devices → Allow Calls On - MacBook Pro (Mac) 2x entries. Also, when Phone Settings opens, the config lists FaceTime as the default calling app but reverts to mobile service after 3 seconds.

There's also another mysterious thing: a fair share of calls I make on my iPhone don't show up at all in the mobile provider reports. I've been having weird glitches like this for going on two years now on Mac and iPhone, which probably all relate to iCloud sync problems in the end. I believe I've tried everything except nuking the iPhone at this point. I get messages on my Mac way before the iPhone—it's supposed to be in reverse, or am I horribly misremembering?

The reason I'm trying to get to the bottom of this right now is how highly inconvenient it is to show my lawyer that his billing for some calls that never happened is easily proven false. But because of this, and the fact that the network provider doesn't show the calls to this number, it's a huge inconvenience to not be able to send a simple screenshot. I never use FaceTime or video calls and have Wi-Fi turned off. This lawyer seems to be using Android because of green message bubbles, so I'm trying to fathom how this can happen, especially since nobody on the internet seems to have encountered this problem so far.

Just wanted to do one last-ditch effort before trying a dreaded "Erase All Content and Settings," which I gather is Apple Support's advice for unexplainable stuff like this. Already spent a few hours on call with Apple Support but got no answer except "wtf?" basically.

I have similar problems. Some days, everything is fine. Some days, phone rings and it never gives the option to answer on the Mac. Samething with the AirPods Pro (v1). Sometimes they move across devices randomly, sometimes I can't transfer them no matter what I do.

I don't mind things not working. I expect some bugs, and the odd edge case errors. What I do mind, and irks me to no end, is what appears to be randomness. I don't sit there and change settings constantly. I know it's not, there has to be a pattern, even if it's something I'm not in control of (like background updates or carrier issues), but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Ehh...rant over.

Yup, I was in that boat, but finally figured out why when I called my mom it frequently went to voicemail.

Turns out that if she was using her iPad at the time, she'd close the cover and put the iPad down before answering my call on her iPhone, and the act of closing the iPad cover would send my call to voicemail.

That's hysterical! A classic example of a user doing something completely rational that a developer either never thought of or has no way of handling.
