I have tried unsuccessfully to take pictures of rock concerts but to no avail. The pictures never focus and are always too washed out. Need to try another phone manufacturer to see if they are any better.:eek:
 
I agree with Macman. Even if you go with a Nokia 1020 you're still working with a pretty small sensor and limited optics. You're better off looking at an enthusiast camera with a fast aperture zoom lens and a large sensor like the Sony RX100 or RX100MKII.
 
The iPhone does a pretty good job for such a demanding subject. Two from last night:

The official photographer was pushing 6400 ISO on his DSLR. You aren't going to get that kind of performance off of a phone.

Did you turn off your flash? Can you post a sample picture so we can see what issues you are having?
