Hey guys

I have an iphone 3g 8gb 4.1 FW. I tried to jailbreak it but mistakenly I used an older jailbreak version which is not compatible with 4.1. I then upgraded it to 4.2.1 and used redsn0w 0.9.6b6 to jailbreak it. However, after turning the iphone on, it tried to connect to itunes and it said to insert a sim card (despite the face that it had an AT&T sim inside). The iphone screen said "iphone cannot make or receive calls. Restore from iTunes".

How do I fix this problem? I got the iphone from ebay and the seller could have been from Canada, hence the iphone doesnt originate to AT&T?
Or could it be permanently locked because I used an older jailbreak version?

Thanks in advance

I guess it's from another carrier rather than ATT. Using an older JB tool won't make your phone lock. It's when you update it through iTunes that will make the JB unlock gone.

So what can I do in this case to activate the iphone without the original sim?
