I have a Belkin Car to USB charger. Its input is 12-24Vdc and its output is 5.5Vdc; 700mA. If I plug in an Apple USB cable into this and plug my iPhone 3g in, will it brick it? Or is that the correct voltage the iPhone requires?

Edit: Did some research and found out that the iPhone input voltage is +3.7V. Judging by this I'd assume that the charger is too powerful for the iPhone. Does anyone have any ideas?
