iPhone Cases: Hard or Rubber?

When shopping for iPhone cases I can't decide whether to get the case in hard or rubber. So I'm interested in knowing which type you prefer and hopefully why?

I've used many different cases, I've settled on a hard one, mostly because the look and feel.

I've gone through many different kinds of cases myself and the soft rubbers always are a lint magnet and over time, will stretch...

Its a b*tch for people who carry their phones in their pockets; rubber doesnt slide in and out as easy...

I've used either a hard case or a hard case lined in silicone type material.

Otterbox Commuter. Best of both worlds, soft rubber inner with a hard plastic outer.

I prefer my spigen slim armor. It combines the rubber and hard case all in one. Plus you can buy the hard plastic part in different colors for $8 on amazon.

I like the Otterbox Defender, it gives some nice protection.

I like the Otterbox Defender too, it's very cool for my iPhone.

I like the rubber lifeproof case, as it has a soft-touch feeling and improves grip.

I say soft cases since if you drop it it will absorb some shock. Hard cases not so well IMO.
