The Youtube channel Max Tech did some testing of various charging scenarios, Qi charging, Magsafe and lightning charging with 5.0, 7.5, and 20 watt power adapters.

His conclusions:

1. Lightning charging is the fastest, followed by Magsafe, then Qi

2. Charging rates as judged by power draw start high, but usually start dropping in the 70-80% charge range.

3. Full charges took from 1:45 minutes to over 3:15.

4. There is no reason to get the 20 watt power adapter if you have the 18. The 20 watt adapter never charges at more that 18 watts.

I have the Apple 20w charger because I’m coming from an SE2020 and wanted the most compatible charger to use with my iPhone 12 Pro.

From my experience at 10% battery using the 20w with USB C my iPhone charges to 100% in an hour to an hour and 15 / 20 minutes.
