Hey!

I go to bed around 10pm - 11pm every night and wake up around 6am - 7am.

I was wondering if plugging in the iPhone at 10pm and not waking up until 6am would damage the device at all? I'm under the impression that sticking a charger in and the device hitting 100%, and every now and then topping up the battery isn't good for the device.

So when I get the iPhone 5S, I was thinking of getting a plug-in timer and set it to charge the phone at say, 3am - 7am (it'd only be on charge for 4 hours then), it'd be on 100% by the time I wake up and start the day.

Sorry if it's a daft question, it's just something that's been bugging me for a while now.

Don't worry about it. The phone has circuitry in it that will prevent it from overcharging. Just plug it in and leave it.
