Hey, just curious, is it bad to charge the iPhone with the iPad's charger and vice versa? I'd like to just use one main charger to charge both? Is it ok to use either charger for both devices (like will it just affect the speed of how they get charged or will it be bad on the battery on either the iPhone or iPad to use the other charger on it?).

Good question.
I've always wondered about that.
I have used the iPad charger when I was in a hurry but wasn't sure if there were any long term issues.

The iPad only changes the "Not Charging" to the lighting bolt once it receives a certain amperage. Even though it may say it isn't charging, it is. Leave it plugged in overnight and you'll see that it will have charged a small amount. The iPad 1 and 2 are the same way with standard 500mA USB ports.

Would you feed a gremlin after midnight and get it wet? surely not, but you'll be fine charging your phone with an ipad charger.

I've charged my iPhone 4S, and my iPhone 4 before it, with an iPad charger probably hundreds of times. Never had a problem.

The iPad will charge with the small iPhone charger, slowly, but only if it's not doing much of anything, and really only when the screen is off and the iPad is asleep.

If you want a bunch of interchangeable chargers in different places, you should buy iPad chargers for best results.

The replacement iPad charger on the Apple website actually states its for all iPod, iPod touch and iPhone devices...
