iPhone charging

How is the charging system? i mean i can charge my iphone with my ipad air wall charger?
i mean ipad charger has 10 or 12 wats i think and iphones has 5

I do this all the time, I charge my iPhone 4 with iPad 1 charger. My iPhone battery is still great after more than 1 year of charging this way. I noticed one more thing I think that my iPad charger charges iPhone way qucker than normal charger would that's another advantage. So I think u can freely charge your iPhone with iPad charger.
