Hi guys,

Over the past few days my iPhone 4 (iOS 7) seems to have developed a chronic problem of freezing on the "slide to unlock" screen. What I mean is that the iPhone will fail to recognize my touch when I slide to unlock. However, even in this "frozen" state it will still recognize my touch when I slide up or down for notification center or control center - it's only the slide to unlock that is not recognized / frozen.

To fix this problem temporarily I can either: (a) Hold the power button, slide to power off, and then turn on the phone again or (b) Hold the power and home buttons simultaneously to reboot. After doing either (a) or (b), the problem will be temporarily gone, but will recur again after a number of hours.

Any idea why this might be happening, and what I can do about it? Thanks very much in advance to anybody who can help me out!

Cheers,
badman
