I wouldn't use a T-shirt as that may leave fine scratches on the lens. Only use a genuine lens cleaning tissue or a clean microfiber cloth.
I been using both actually since the X since I upgrade every year and I didn’t notice it but since your giving me a tip I will stop using the shirt.

I believe the camera lens has a sapphire coating over it, so it would be very difficult to scratch it. I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever scratched the camera lens on any of my iPhones, and I typically don’t use cases either.

Is it ok to use a t shirt to clean iPhone lens when I don’t have a microfiber cloth with me on the go ?

I used to work in construction and now I work as both IT and a laser technician. Laser dust can be abrasive depending on material but most it’s just a fine powder. I have always used a shirt or whatever was around that was grease free. I have never ever scratched a lens on a smart phone. The last lens that was scratched was on my Razr V3c.

I’ve been using my under t-shirts ever since the iPhone 5, I have NEVER gotten micro scratches from just wiping. I just wiped my Pro Max screen with my t-shirt just now before writing this. Still looks brand new.

I should’ve elaborated a little more, of course be cautious on the t-shirt, like make sure there’s no tiny rocks or such lingering around. I normally do one wipe to make sure everything looks ok and then continue to wipe the whole thing (bad OCD). Also, I normally only wipe with 100% soft cotton, other materials like polyester and such feels like they’ll do some damage so I never risked it. This is just me though and still til this day, no scratches ever from wiping.

Same here: always used a t-shirt (I mean years) and I never seen a single scratch on the lenses.
