iPhone Clock Display

Is there any way to have a nice clock display appear on the iPhone homepage. Or even if could make a clock widget that appears when swipe left when unlock. I can show, weather, calendar, updated news stories...but why can't their be a clock display? For those of us getting older it's getting harder to see the tiny font size on the top of screen. Hope I have described this properly. Thanks.

Apple does not allow this.
