Not sure if this has been posted before, but everytime I see the iPhone commercial at the end it shows someone calling, and its the background screen with a tiny picture in the upper right hand corner of the person that is calling. Is that an option on the iPhone, i could not see any setting to change it from showing the pic taking up the whole phone vs a smaller pic of the person and your background screen.

I think that the picture comes up in the upper right hand corner when the pictures were orginally added on your Mac's address book. When they're added on the iPhone, they appear as the whole background.

from what I heard that only happens when you sync contacts with Outlook, not when you manually program them in

I think the full screen photo comes up even if the image originates in address book on the mac - I remember calling myself from my home phone when I first got an iPhone and being horrified to see my account photo flash up on screen!
Does anyone know of a way around this without requiring outlook etc? I much prefer the display with the small photo shown in the ads.

also if you would like to change from small pic to whole background for caller ID, then after u added the picture from Address Book or Outlook contacts, then edit the contact details on the iPhone, edit the picture and resize it to take up the whole screen, it will then show up as full screen next time that person calls.

iJesus is right. If you add a photo to a contact in Address Book, this is how the picture will appear. If you do it through the iPhone, it will be a full screen pic.
since the day i bought my phone back in June I have always wondered that but never bothered asking or looking it up, I always thought that the Ads were just a special version of the phone that was supposed to be released but never was, now I know,
