iPhone Contact pictures???

I have an iphone 3GS and i like to set pictures for people when they call me. I noticed that i can manually set the picture to full screen while on the iphone. However, i also noticed on the iphone TV ads that a small thumbnail like picture comes up to the name of the person.

How does a person add that little thumbnail picture to ppls contacts when they call?? I hook my iphone up to my macbook pro.. and all my contacts are stored there..

Any thoughts/help is much appreciated!!

Use the search, if you do it through Address Book you get small photos, if you do it via the phone you get big ones.
