iPhone/contacts question

I know you can sort and organize/display your contacts in your phone by either..

first, last
last, first

but is there any way to display it as just..

first

with no last name?

... I'm looking for a way to have someone's first and last name to be in the contact card, but I only want to see the person's first name when looking through them.
