iPhone deleting numbers??

Anyone have a problem with iPhone 3GS when syncing? The phone had all the contacts and their numbers on it before adding music and apps from the computer.... Now there are all of the contacts but some have lost their numbers. When resyncing nothing is fixed... suggestions?? THANKS
