Whilst wandering around our local shopping centre, in Sydney's northern suburbs, I saw a brochure at Crazy Johns which had a feature on the iphone. I went in and asked if they were getting it and to my surprise the guy behind the counter said next year AND we have a demo model if you want to see it.!!He then went behind and came back with an iphone box and duly got out a phone and started to demo it. It couldn't connect but he gave it to me to play around - it was like seeing a film star in the flesh. All I'd read about and there I was holding this beautiful thing!

I promise this is not a wind up, he said they were coming to Aus in March and were negotiating which network to go for. On the bottom of teh box was a label stating the name of the suburb and apparently Crazy Johns head office has sent a number around Australia to various stores.

I actually held an iphone (not a ipod touch) in Sydney today and it is a beautiful beautiful thing. I want one

Incidenatlly, I also had a demo (by a guy working in another elctronics store) of a jailbreaked ipod touch (at another store in the same centre) which had scores of applications. You scroll the home screen to see all the apps so you are not just limited by the set screen area to display the icons.
