iPhone developer program applications now being accepted?

Hi,
I applied for a standard ($99) iPhone developer membership a few months back and was one of the great many that was not approved prior to today's launch. Just this afternoon (7/11) I got an email about a change in status and could now complete my enrollment. Was this just a coincidence, or are other people getting the same email today now that the app store is open (and presumably the dev program is no longer in beta)?

I didn't get an email, but with all the great apps coming out it inspired me. So I went to the developer's site and applied again. This time I was taken to the checkout and I paid my $99 + tax fee.
