So I have been trying the Music app with Apple Music after using Spotify for ages.

I seem to be having a problem where I select an album/playlist ect from my library on my iPhone and then select the airplay button at the bottom and transfer the music to the HomePod.
After a random amount of songs my iPhone gets to the end of a song but does not update itself in the music app to show the next song, but the HomePod carries on playing the playlist as normal. I only find it’s discounted from the HomePod when I go and try and skip a track or change music volume from the phone. To reconnect I have to go to the control panel, select the HomePod from the airplay list and wait sometimes 30 seconds or more for it to reconnect and display the current track on my phone that the HomePod is playing.

When I use Spotify I never have this problem, though that is being streamed from my phone rather than from Apple servers which I believe what happens when I move the music over from my phone for Apple Music.

Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening/Disconnecting?
