This may seem like a strange question, but is there a way to image or copy an iPhone? My wife has inherited her father's iPhone after he unexpectedly died and I know it's going to hurt her to erase everything he had on his phone (for instance, her picture as his wallpaper). Any way to keep his pictures, songs, playlists for posterity?

Thanks in advance.

The only official way is to sync with the original computer that the iPhone was synced to.

Now if you're on a Mac:

Username/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

That folder has the SMS texts, notes, etc.

What it doesn't have are the actual songs, etc.

But it does have all the settings and stuff.

Windows:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\Apple Computer\SyncServices\Local

Now just backup the songs, photos, etc. from the original computer

you will have to jailbreak it first

no you dont just download the app and plug your phone in

With PhoneView on your Mac, you can:
Use your iPhone as a Disk! Access, Edit and Create Notes!
Access Music and Movies! View and Export Call History!
View and Export SMS! View Synced Photos!
Download Camera Photos! Access Contacts!
