Why does the iPhone 8 have a 750p display; the iPhone 8+ have a 1080p display; and the X have a 1125p display?

I assume Apple's penchant for obscure specs factor into the 8 and the notch factors into the X.

What’s the point here?!

Finding out about why something is 1080p w/ a 5.5" model and something is 1125p at a 5.8 inch size? Rumors are for a 2180 x 1080p display for the 6.1" LCD model anyways. Not sure why some are normal display resolutions and some are slightly obscure.

What is “normal” resolution? There’s no standard for handheld devices.

720p, 1080p are HD and FHD standards.

Those resolutions are related to video content. Nothing to do with a handheld device. The screen is used for everything else along with content viewing, in fact, mostly the screen is actually not used for content viewing. Apple as a company never really followed any such standard to begin with.
