Have an old iphone 4s. I had went to a repair shop where they put in a new battery for my iphone. My iphone battery would go out at 20 percent... but then later on at 40, 50, 60 etc. After i got the replacement, my battery still had similar issue. It got to the point where i could not connect iphone to my laptop where it would recognize it. Basically you could not connect it correctly straight inside the iphone. However, i could charge my iphone to an outlet on the wall for some reason. But not only that, my battery had a very strange problem. It would stay at 100 percent for a long time after i charge it till 100 percent. So imagine i youtube for an hour or so... it stays at 100 percent. Then when it gets to the 90 percent then 80 percent etc... it would then go out at 80 percent.

Has anyone had this happened?

I then went to repair shop and they said thats most likely the battery issue. But they said that my dock connector needs replacement because thats why i cannot connect laptop for it to be recognized. Here is the strange thing. The guy had used something like a pen to scrape out a lot of dust from the broken dock connector... said i had lot of dust and things there. At the time they didnt have the dock replacement part or the battery replacement because my phone is an old iphone 4s.

I then charged my iphone this time for over 12 hours. I then noticed that not only did my iphone not go out at 80%... it looked like it was going to last a while. I have so far tested it.... and it goes at around 20%. I went back to the repair shop and the guy replaced my dock connector and i can connect it to my laptop without any issue which is great. I had asked if i should replace the battery and he tells me well just see if the battery goes out at X percent or not... if so, then we can replace the battery for you.

So as of now, using the iphone 4s and youtubing at 100 percent... it does go down slowly the battery like normal. It lasts quite a bit of good time. But it still goes out at 20% the battery. But the time it takes from 100% to 20% is still pretty good.

Based on this, would you all still suggest i get a battery replacement if battery goes out at 20%? The other thing i wonder is why did my iphone battery suddenly not go out at 80% anymore? The only 2 reasons i could think of was when the guy took like a pen and took out a lot of dust etc from it. But at the time, he didn't replace my dock connector yet. The other thing i thought was could it be because i charged my iphone for 12 hours and thats why? Previously i had usually charge it to 100 percent and then took iphone off the wall outlet.

So i'm really wondering why is my battery no longer acting strange and staying at 100% for a long time before going down... and also why it no longer shuts down at 80%. Could the 20% be because of IOS 9? I was going to get an iphone SE but i will not get it anymore due to my iphone finally being able to connect to a computer again.
