Hello,

My iPhone stopped updating at iOS 18.1 (22B5023e).

I have tried turning on and off developer updates and it does not work.

Dara anyone know how to resume getting updates when this happens?

Thank you

You may be confusing all the buzz with the new iOS 18.0 beta 7 and the absence of the new build for your iOS 18.1 beta 2. Your iOS 18.1 beta 3 should come later, any time from today and next week at the latest.

To make matters more confusing, in Software Updates section both iOS 18.0 and 18.1 are marked as iOS 18 Developer Beta or Public Beta.

Yes, it is indeed confusing! Thanks for your response.

Hi, can I ask you another question? As of today my iOS still is iOS 18.1 Developer Beta. Later today apple will launch iOS 18 for every user in the world. Am I supposed to see an updated to download?

What should I do if the update does not appear to me? Should I back up my phone, restore to factory settings and hope that the final version of iOS 18 is available on my phone?

Thank you in advance.

No, you won't see an update, since you are on a newer version of iOS right now.

You can try to restore your iOS version to iOS 18 when it comes out, but make sure you have an encrypted back-up.
Or you could wait for the next iOS 18.1 beta when it comes out, maybe this week or next week.

It showing

My iOS version 18.1 (22B5034e). Do you know if it’s the last one?

You're on 18.1 beta so you will not see any updates until the next 18.1 beta release. Apple hasn't released an update to 18.1 beta users since back in August so it's normal that you have no update.

The public release today was version 18.0 and doesn't affect you because you are already on a higher version. You will be on a beta until the 18.1 final release sometime in October unless you downgrade to the public version (18.0) before then.

Personally I would recommend against installing a developer exclusive beta unless you know what you're doing and the procedure to downgrade if necessary etc. This particular beta is a bit out of the ordinary of what Apple usually does and there have been reports of some things not working quite right.
