Everytime I sync my iPhone (3g) I get this error:

iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "XXXX" because the iPhone cancelled the sync

Does anyone know what this means? I am wondering if this is because I do not use Apple Mail-but instead use Thunderbird?

Does your e-mail work on your phone?

All this "sync" does is make sure the account is set up correctly. If it is, and you're getting mail, then it doesn't really matter. You can even turn off the sync mail feature entirely to avoid the error.

In fact, this is what I do. I never set iTunes to sync my mail account. I just set it up manually on the phone itself and everything works great.

Yes I have no trouble with getting or sending email on the phone.

How do I turn off the Sync Mail option?
