My iPhone 4s has stopped working and upon taking it to the Apple shop for replacement, I have been informed that they won't touch it as the EMEI code on the sim tray does not match the EMEI inside of the phone. They also discovered that the logic board has been replaced with an unauthorised Apple part. I bought my phone directly from 3 Mobile as a NEW (definately not refurbished) phone, and have never had it replaced/repaired/swapped etc. The implication from 3 Mobile and Apple is that I am a liar and am have swapped the phone at some time and I am trying to scam them. I am so frustrated. The phone I have is the original phone sent to me by 3 as a new phone. Neither company will replace or repair my phone, and I'm still tied into 8 months of a contract. Has anyone heard of this before? HELP!

first off, its IMEI. and yes, I've seen threads regarding similar issues. try bringing it to your carrier and ask them what the deal is. sure sounds like it was messed with if apple claims it was. i don't see any reason for them to lie.
