Heres my scenario. Im the new IT admin for this company. I just recently moved them over to exchange online. They were on a different hosted exchange infastructure until the server crashed in April so they were temporarily moved to a pop3 until recently when I setup exchange online. I have a problem with one individual (the owner of course) who has outlook 2007 on a pc and an iphone 4. So what I did (In this order) was export his entire outlook mailbox to a .pst. I then used the sign in tool to create his new mailbox and then imported his archived pst I had just saved. Everything went great. I then got on his iphone and instead of deleting his previous email account (which wasnt connected to pop3 anymore) that included contacts and calendars I just changed the server settings to match the new exchange online credentials because he had done all his calendaring events through his iphone so all events were on the iphone and nowhere else. So I thought with changing the server settings I wouldnt have to resync/redownload everything to his iphone. So after putting in the new server info into the iphone I sync'd his iphone to outlook and included contacts and calendars. Now the iphone calendar events are duplicated and he is saying he is missing some important events he saved in his iphone. Is there a chance that when I changed the server settings and it connected to exchange online it overwritten the calendar he had saved locally on his iphone? What advice do you have and how do you think I should proceed? I could restore the iphone but the last sync was just after I saved the new server settings. But after I changed the server settings you think the iphone would upload the local calendar to exchange online? I logged into his exchange webmail to see if these particular events were there but they werent. I'm hoping not to lose anything at all but as far as fixing the duplication im just going to delete the account off the iphone and recreate and let it download the contacts and calendars again. ugh...

You think if it duplicated it would have the local iphone calendars events and the outlook calendar it sync'd. Maybe he was trying to fix the duplicate issue and deleted the particular events hes missing. Seems logical to me.
