I'm curious how easy it is to exchange an iPhone. I got mine from an AT&T store and it is developing a small crack in the black under the screen and would like to replace it. Is it difficult to walk into an AT&T store or, preferably, an Apple store and exchange it? Do I have to go in with the original packaging and contents?

i don't know if you have to go to an apple store, but i'd guess it'd be easier if you did (more stock and what not).

i haven't exchanged mine, but from what i understand they have spare units that don't have any packaging, so i'd think you could just bring in the phone.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went in and it turns out if you bought the iPhone from Apple you have to bring in the original box and sales receipt for an exchange. If you bought it from AT&T you need to schedule an appointment with a Mac Genius where they will order a replacement after inspecting your phone. Thought others might find this useful.
