Im playing a song right now on my iPhones iPod, but can someone tell me why it is only playing out of the left speaker?

I've tried at least 10 songs now and sound is coming loudly out of the left speaker, and some is coming out of the right speaker, although it is extremely faint.

Anybody know why? Is there a slider to control the output (left/right) of your sound? Or is there a problem with my iPhone's external speakers?

That is because there is only one speaker on the iPhone. The other "speaker" is the built-in microphone.

Oh, so really all of the sound is coming out of the left when Im listening to music externally? You're saying its supposed to be like that?

Yes, it is supposed to be like that. What do you think you are talking into when you make a call? The home button? The speaker on the iPhone sucks, it's not just your phone. Try plugging your home stereo into the audio-out jack on the back of your dock to get some good external sound.
