iphone fail - completely locked

hi i'm a complete n00b at this stuff but i'm desperate.
last nite i downloaded "activatemms2g" in hindesite a stupid thing to do, as i have a 3g iphone 2.2.1 (wasn't concentrating ok) it downloaded then tried to reboot my iphone, now all i get is the apple boot logo. I've tried the hold power and home button - don't do nothin. tried to plug in to computer wont recognize.
please someone help i cant live without my iphone.

i did the same exact thing the other day
what i did i had to restore my iphone back to factory settings, hopefully u have ur backup still in itunes so that way after u restore u can get all ur contacts etc back

to do restore:
ok turn off ur iphone by doing the hard reset but make sure ur phone is completely off. now on ur computer open itunes and once its open plug in ur iphone while holding the home button until u get the itunes logo on ur phone and then it should be simple from there to restore and then backup
