iPhone Firmware 2.3 to come out on Feb. 3rd?

How freakin' cool would it be if Firmware 2.3 came out on 2/3!!! I doubt they'd do that since they JUST released 2.2.1... but, then again... didn't they release 1.1.5 for iPod touch just before 2.0?

Oh and one more thing... Feb. 3rd is a TUESDAY! Hah!
 
I highly doubt it. 2.2.1 just came out so I don't think they'd release another one that quickly.
 
Nope. As far as I'm aware, 2.3 hasn't been given to developers yet and Apple's not about to release an untested update.

It sounded as if there was a possibility. "Wouldn't it be cool?!" isn't very credible. :rolleyes:

this is the most childish thing ive ever heard.

so like you expecting 3.0 to come out in march? how about firmware 7.1, in july when apple decides to release iphone 2. oh wait by your logic it would have to be released in February.

Wow I cannot believe some of you are getting so worked up over a hypothetical thread. If a guy has an idea let him voice it, good or bad, without striking him down just because you don't agree with it. Some of you guys can be nothing but arseholes on here. If you don't like the title/content then don't read the thread. If I see it correctly, the internet is a tool for expression of thought, commerce etc- and unless you're in China, it is UNRESTRICTED and meant to be used as such. If you've nothing productive to say about someone's idea, then PLEASE can it and don't rip the guy a second [explative]hole about it, my God.

This thread was just meant to be a semi-joke/wish. I really want some real changes to the iPhone software, and it seems like Apple keeps releasing petty little stuff that nobody wants. They don't give us any information on when things will be available and when they DO, the fail to deliver them. I was like... hey, 2.3, 2/3... it's a Tuesday... it was all just a dumb coincidence and I felt like I wanted to lighten the mood a little bit on this forum. Nothing wrong with that. Also, I phrased it like a question so that people wouldn't think this was something that was confirmed.

Lighten up people, please. I meant no harm.

Edit: How cool would it be if Apple released iChat on the App Store with Push notifications. Officially being the first app with real push support! Would we need a totally new Firmware for that or could they enable it from their end?
 
Umm, I don't think we'll see 2.3 today, lol. If so, that was so pointless of them to release 2.2.1. I mean, it just came out last week...:eek:
 
I doubt an update will come out today, but it would be nice to hear if push is in the works or not. It's been TOO long!
