Hey,

I am looking at getting the 3G iPhone when it is released but I was wondering what happens when Apple releases new updates to the firmware. Will I be able to install the updates?

With mobile phones in Australia, they usually have a slightly modified firmware from the Mobile provider, so you can't apply any new firmwares from the mobile phone manufacturer.

So does anyone know what will happen with the new iPhone? Will the firmware be the one straight from Apple, or will the Mobile Phone Networks screw it up?

Cheers,
Chris

dont know for sure (because nothing about the iPhone in Oz has been released (plan wise etc.)), but i doubt Apple will let service providers touch their firmware.
