Hello everyone,

I'll be heading to Canada in September for university and I would like to buy the upcoming iPhone 4. I have a few questions which I hope you guys can help me answer. Thank you very much!

1. Are the iPhone's sim-card locked in Canada?
2. Because I live in Hong Kong currently, and buying the phone would be tax-free and they're unlocked, would it be wise to buy it here and sign up to a contract there?
3. Which phone network is best in gaining signals?

1. Have no clue.
2. Yes
3. Again, have no clue.

You know what they say, blame Canada! It says you live in Vancouver.... is that where you're going or where you used to live?

1. Yes, the phone is locked to whichever carrier you sign up with. None of the carriers in Canada will give you the option of a factory unlocked phone, nor will they readily unlock it for you.

3. This will be hugely dependent on where in the country you are going to be. Try searching through the Canadian carriers forums on Howard Forums. That will be one of the better resources for this.
