fair:confused: should i ask more? xD

Fair means reasonable price for neither party to get ripped off.

And using that definition i'd say your buyer is getting ripped off. Don't go higher, but that's an insane price for a out of warranty phone unless its mint and is unlocked. Even then that's insane, considering an out of contract new iP4 is 599 (which means the 3GS is less, which means a USED 3G will be even less).

Take it and run for the hills!

for mine i thought i would get $150 for it, shattered screen mind you....

but i highballed it asking 250 thinking it would never fly.. but it did, within 5 minutes... now i wish i had asked for more..

dont sell yourself short!

How about a Factory Spec iOS4 White 32GB 3Gs with a little blemish on one of the corners but screen is pristine.

3G's are worth 150-200 for an 8 GB and up to 300 for a 16GB if they are in good condition. On craigslist in Dallas most 3GS iphones 16 GB are selling around 300-350 so I don't thing 3G is worth that much anymore.

I agree, everyone is going to want to jump to iOS4 once it comes out. So an iPhone unlocked on 3.1.X won't be too appealing.

the unwashed masses don't know that. They'll plug in their iphones, update, and be very unhappy customers.

Do you think these values will persist at least a little while past launch? I have a 32gig 3GS in great shape since it's been in an otter box since day 1 and I really want the new iPhone but will probably have to pay the 399 for it. Do you think I can fetch close to that amount, say... In July? Or will the values plummet after the new phone comes out....

Thanks for any info and help :)

Edit: it is jailbroken, but I just did it with the latest spirit since I upgraded my firmware to 3.1.3, so its not unlocked :-(

What do you guys think a black 32g 3GS is worth?

It's in perfect condition, has original box/everything that came with it.

Locked to AT&T $400

Unlocked $450-550

These prices will stay pretty consistent. Since the ETFs are higher now you won't see a flood of low-priced "legitimate" iPhone 4s hitting the market. Most likely iPhone 4s will be going for $900 base for a 32GB; that's locked.

Cool. Is Ebay the best route to take?

Ah, I should clarify, I sold mine face-to-face via Craigslist. The only thing I know about EBay is what I've read online, which seems to make EBay look like a decent option too.

But frankly, I preferred being able to do the transaction in-person, and for cash. Plus I posted my ad the night before, by the morning I'd found a buyer and made the exchange by 3 PM.

So, what is a good price for a 2 year old 16 GB 3G. Not in perfect condition by any means. The screen is not scratched and is in good condition, and the phone works well. But has almost an inch crack in back and the back definitely shows typical wear (it was not in a case).
