iPhone for Verizon?

Does anyone know how long the apple/att&t contract lasts? And, is it even possible that they will make deals with other carriers when it does in fact expire?

It last for at least the next year, one thing about them going with another carrier is that it would most likely be another GSM carrier (i.e. T-Mobile). Apple making a CDMA phone that would just be for a rather small percentage of users in the U.S. (mainly) wouldn't be a wise business decision.
