Carrier iPhone forever sprint @12 months

Can someone explain what happens if you try to upgrade after 12 payments? The web site is a litttle vague. It said you can upgrade after 12 months even though the lease is 18 months. Are you responsible for the balance, or is it clean slate?

Clean slate.. You will be able to upgrade to new iPhone on that forever deal every 12 months. You are only leasing the phone.
