Hi, all. Seeing a new behavior in my phone, though I do not know if this is due to recent versions of iOS or due to something to do with my new iPhone 13 mini.

Back in the Before Times, when I still commuted to an office, I would listen to podcasts on my commute. I don't use Apple's Podcast app, I have always used Overcast. My phone would connect to my car entertainment system via bluetooth, and the controls are pretty rudimentary. But basic play/pause, back/forward and volume work fine.

Though I gave up a lot of podcast listening over the last couple of years, recently I've begun to do so again when I'm driving about town. But there is something it used to do that it is no longer doing. I used drive to work in the morning, listening to my podcast on Overcast, and when I would get in my car at the end of the day it would connect again and resume playing the podcast. Now, however, once I disconnect, before too long (I haven't tested what the time tolerance is, but an hour is sufficient) the phone forgets that Overcast was the last audio app I was using, and defaults to Music instead. I have to manually switch back to Overcast. And that's something I can't do while driving, so either I remember to make the adjustment before I leave, or pull over somewhere and do it, or just forget about it for this drive.

This sounds to me like a pretty obscure thing to complain about, but has anyone else noticed behavior like this, whether it's for podcasts or music or something, where your phone switches back to some other app?

I just installed iOS 15.2.2 on my iPhone 7 yesterday and it’s been a disaster. So many screwed up things. While I haven’t explored any audio apps, so many other things are now wonky on my phone, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit about your odd audio problems.

There’s nothing wrong with your phone. The problem is the POS iOS 15.
