I just accidentally spilt some ginger aile on my iphone 4. I was able to immediately dry it off and shut it off, open the back and take cotton swabs to everything.

There wasnt any liquid in the 30-pin connector or inside the phone as non of the cotton swabs were wet in any way...

But now my phone wont shut off it only restarts and its giving me an error saying "This Accessory is not optimized for this iPhone"

What should i do?

I had this problem too when I put on my screen protector. First u need to keep ur phone off then put it in a bag of rice for half a day. Then you should be fine. Hope that helps.

Looks like your headphone connector might have been affected. Can you play any songs on your device through headphones?

I'd go to the Apple Store regardless.

My headphones seem to work fine through it, the headphone jack wasnt even hit by any ginger ale

It was barely any liquid, do i still need to put it in a bag of rice? The phone wont shut off too, only restarts...

My phone and another person I know iPhone 4 did the same thing. Except we didn't get them wet in any way, it just decided to start randomly popping up when ever it wanted. We both literally just waited it out and I didn't even notice that it stopped, only did it for like 5 days. Good luck though

it doesn't have to get wet, if fact, it it usually caused by debris that gets in there. A small amount of lint and a day with high humidity, and you have a problem.
