A co-worker sent this to me today from the at&t site. I was interested in purchasing a full-price non-contract iphone and keeping my cheap go-phone plan, but seems that at&t is saying that may not be possible.

Yes since i bought my original 2G iphone and AT&T offered me the option for $55 a month (which includes the data plan).

all you need to do is modify the carrier ipcc file to an older version to have the media settings (APN) correct
