This morning I woke up and I checked my phone and I left my wifi on over night and my battery was almost dead. So i plugged my phone in like I always do and about 15 minutes later I get a text message from my friend and I grab my phone. When I hold my phone i realize really fast my phone was extemely hot and the front of the phone was just as hot.
I've seen reviews and reports of an "Exploding iphone" so i unplugged my phone for about 30 mins. giving it time to cool down. I plugged my phone in again and now an hour later its still plugged in and it feels normal (not hot) and works fine.
How come it did this?

The phone can get hot when charging. As long as it's fine now, I wouldn't worry about it. If it constantly happens, consider getting a replacement battery.

I understand, Thanks!
